My name is Charles Torres, I am a yogi and this is my story: Drifting without purpose, by my mid-20s, I'd become horribly out of shape, adding several inches to my waistline. I was motivated to lose weight, but at the beginning, yoga was only a secondary portion of my training regimen. Through a lot of hard work, I was able to lose more than 40 pounds over the course of one year-- and keep it off-- but something was missing. I was physically fit, but unhappy. When I first began, I believed yoga was just of the physical practice, I was inspired by arm balancing and all of the strength oriented aspects of the practice. I didn't make the connection between my physical well being and mental well-being until I delved deeper into every aspect of the yoga practice with my first 200 hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Six. Honestly, I dove into the experience not knowing what to expect besides getting the yoga-teaching certificate. But when I stepped into the space, a real transformation began. The space was offered to me for growth and I was able to analyze huge aspects of my life that I needed to reflect on, to understand WHY I felt the way I did. The net result is I'm more physically fit and happier than I have ever been and my practice continues to deepen day by day because there is ALWAYS something new to learn. I meet new teachers on a regular basis and they teach me something new about myself at every given opportunity. The journey never ends and I am at its will, as long as I lead with good intention and an open mind, I know things will find their own ways and balance out.

Exceptional Instructor

Charles is a new instructor, but his skills supercede many instructors I've taken with many years of experience. He is friendly, considerate, knowledgeable, and fun. He gives great adjustments, has great music, and gives you the perfect amount of alignment detail to get into the posture, but then gives you space to BREATHE~ you know those few precious moments after you find your alignment, and then you just embody the pose? He creates that space! I highly recommend Charles, he has a way of making you feel like you've known him forever. You will feel at ease in his presence, and you will be so glad you went.
