Cheryl is a qualified, registered and experienced Hatha Yoga teacher and currently runs classes in The Hunter Valley, NSW. Her classes incorporate elements of the Iyengar, Astanga and Satyananda yoga traditions, including Asana,Yoga Nidra style relaxation, pranayama and meditation techniques as well as the other limbs of yoga. She believes in the harmonizing and balancing benefits of yoga for body, mind and spirit.
Classes currently in Kurri Kurri and starting in an other local venue soon. (Day and Evening). Private classes and small group classes also available.
Cheryl has a background in Health, fitness training and Education. She is dedicated to her personal yoga practice and to teaching the beautiful tradition of Hatha yoga.
The classes are general, medium intensity level and can be gentle or extended according to individual experience and needs, taking of course individual differences into account. Yoga as always should be relaxing and non competitive. The classes have a lovely relaxing atmosphere with soft lighting at night, gentle Kirtan or mantra playing on a stereo and soft exotic fragrance.
The benefits of yoga include stress reduction, strengthening of muscles including core, increase in flexibility and joint mobility, improvement of body shape, improved immune function, improvement in sleep quality and many others.
