Christine Durant, MA, E-RYT 200, knows the practice of yoga influences and inspires every aspect of her life and she hopes it can do the same for you!
Christine had been practicing asana and pranayama on and off for years until she became more serious about her practice during college. While working on her master's degree in counseling psychology, Christine began to study the effects of meditation, mindfulness, and yoga asana on the symptoms of mental health patients. Upon moving from Boston to New Orleans, she felt the call to deeper her own personal practice while also learning to share yoga with others by training in the vinyasa flow style with Ganga White and Tracey Rich at the White Lotus Foundation, in Santa Barbara. Recently she completed an advanced teacher training in the bhakti lineage with Michelle Baker in New Orleans and has been chanting to her harmonium ever since.
Through creative sequencing often incorporating strengthening movements set to empowering playlists her students enjoy expressing themselves, creating space in their bodies and minds, and finding a little more peace in their day. Christine believes that yoga is for every body and emphasizes connecting the breath with movement while playfully challenging yourself.
