Christine O'Donnell, owner of Sukha Arts Center, has studied dance for more than twenty years including ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, and contemporary. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a Concentration in the Social and Psychological Construction of Mind and Body, focusing on healing through Eastern and alternative medicine techniques. During her college tenure, she participated in a work-study program at Peridance Center in New York City, where she continued her dance education.
Christine has taught dance and yoga classes to all ages and abilities. She is a 500-RYT, and yoga therapy certified. Christine was also recently honored by Jade Yoga as a Jade Yoga Mat Ambassador!
Christine also dances professionally for MarDelDance, a non-profit modern dance company. She is on their board of directors and co-directs MarDelDance Youth and MarDelDance Mini, the pre-professional dance companies affiliated with MarDelDance. Their goal is to educate and inspire young dancers in a non-competitive way to aid in the development of professional young adult dancers.
Christine is also an active member of the Harrington Park Community. She is an advisory board member for the Arts Council of Harrington Park. The goal of this newly founded arts council is to increase interest in the arts but also to showcase local talents.
When not dancing or practicing yoga, you’ll find Christine doubled over laughing with her friends or indulging in her other passions - food, running, coffee, and adventures!
