Claire is a teacher of yoga and student of psychotherapy. She is a graduate of the Swan River Yoga Swan School (350 hour certified) in New Orleans and a future graduate of Loyola’s Master in Counseling program. Claire has studied philosophy at Charles University in Prague and psychology at the University of New Orleans. Her first experience teaching yoga was in 2013 while working at a nonprofit for adults with intellectual disabilities. That summer, she shared restorative yoga with survivors of sex trafficking and trauma. She was captivated by the ability of yoga to free the mind by connecting it to the body.
Claire’s yoga practice seeks to strengthen, purify, and refine the connection between mind and body, emphasizing the flowing equanimity of dualities-- strength and flexibility, perseverance and patience, movement and stillness. She perceives yoga as a practice of empowerment, offering students the ability to develop their own tools to overcome challenges. She likes to offer private classes in order to mold the practice according to the individual or couple’s strengths and goals.
On her “days off,” Claire volunteers for a non-profit that promotes depth psychology, cultivates her cactus garden, and bakes vegan confections.
