I was first introduced to yoga when I was a little girl as my Mum practised every day. I started attending a class at Triyoga in London to help deal with bouts of anxiety and a stressful job.

I slept better after every class, any stress from my day fell away and felt stronger and more flexible. My posture improved and I felt happier and more positive. In 2010 I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training course with Sivananda in the Indian Himalayas.

I've taught at the Sivananda centre in Putney, in various village halls and privately teaching groups of hefty blokey athletes preparing for Iron Man triathlons.

I have completed training in pregnancy yoga and also in teaching people with ME/CFS with Fiona Agombar through Yoga Campus.

In 2012 I completed a 500 hour training with Michel Besnard in Thailand through Yogasana. Having studied with both Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois (Ashtanga), Michel taught me perhaps the most important lesson of all: to accept my body as it is – warts and all – and I'm so grateful for this. I'm not the most flexible person and have problems with my lower back.

Michel told me that sometimes the best teachers aren’t the ones who have super bendy yogi bodies, but they’re the ones who understand the needs of students and know what it’s like to have limitations. And anyway, who cares! We just have to enjoy our practice.

On Michel’s course, I also learnt how to teach yin yoga with Nora Mangiamele and got a taste for Acroyoga with Arianne Traverso.

I now study yin yoga with Norman Blair and teach yin classes and workshops in London and Hertfordshire.

As well as yin yoga, I also teach gentle classes – blending a mix of postures with a focus on alignment and deep relaxation.

Along side weekly group classes, I teach privately in people’s homes. If you have a visual impairment or have ME/CFS and live in Hertfordshire I can help you.
