Colleen moved to North Carolina from New Jersey after retiring early from a fifteen-year career as a high school administrator. She also has extensive experience as a coach in the sports of softball, basketball and indoor track and in the management of organized athletics. Colleen has been a life-long athlete in competitive sports and has always remained committed to exercising and staying fit. After many sports injuries and subsequent surgeries, she came to her senses and realized she needed to exercise in a different manner. She began taking yoga classes back in New Jersey and was then introduced to Pilates when she moved here to North Carolina. Colleen immediately saw the benefits of both types of exercise and became certified as a Pilates instructor after a year. She has also successfully completed a 250 hour Vinyasa Yoga certification as well and feels that the practice of Yoga in combination with Pilates is a tremendous one-two punch in the fight to increase the strength and flexibility, which becomes even more crucial as women age.
