Yoga and Horses
My two passions are yoga and horses. I love to combine these two in yoga/trail rides and yoga/horseback riding classes, and yoga/horsemanship retreats. The two are a natural duo as they both give you the opportunity to find your quiet stillness as you enjoy the union of your spirit with that of the horse's spirit.
Yoga Studio
My yoga studio located in the beautiful hills of Escazu. San Antonio de Escazu, 75m south of Restaurante Tiquicia and 300 meters east on Calle Dos Cercas, 4thnd gate on your right.
Why Yoga?
Living with rheumatoid arthritis for more than 20 years I understand the challenges of limited mobility, flexibility and strength ... and chronic pain.

An amazing teacher with a positive energy!

Corinne is a great teacher and a great person! I really enjoy been taught by her. She is a very warm, empathetic and joyful person. Her positive energy is very communicative. She is both "serious" about yoga and funny! As a teacher she explains very well, is open-minded and has a special way to find the right "trigger" for each of her students. She has done an amazing journey already as a yogi and is a very inspiring person. I highly recommend her and would be her student again with no hesitation.

Life changing teacher... incredible yogi

I was lucky enough to study under Corinne for my 200hr RYT training this past october (2017). Corinne is such an incredible human and yogi and is great at explaining to newer yogis how to use the 8 limbs of yoga in life to take your journey inward. Her explanations are very detailed and she shows you how many different ways you can teach a class. I feel so blessed to have trained under her.

Yoga & Horses & India. Corinne helped make a good trip GREAT

I'm convinced that Corinne's morning yoga sessions are wholly responsible for me being able to enjoy our recent adventure: a multi-day horse safari in Rajastan, India. We rode 5-6 hours each day and given that I'm a novice rider I expected to be really sore. Just the opposite happened though. I felt really terrific in the saddle and every evening around the camp fire, too. Yoga with Corinne absolutely enhanced my ability to enjoy my surroundings.

Here's the company we used: Princess Trails

Yoga in the open as the sun is coming up is magical. We changed campsites each night so every morning's meditation was new, too. Corinne knows horses almost as well as she knows yoga so her morning sessions concentrated on the areas she knew were most affected by hours in a saddle. I was with 4 other women whose yoga knowledge varied as widely as their riding skills. That is to say, novice to expert. A challenge to any teacher but Corinne handled it really well. She introduced each asana with the "why" as well as the how" and best of all described modifications each of us could employ to accomodate issues like hip replacements and weak lower backs.

Disclaimer: Corinne is my sister. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I think she's a terrific teacher.

Great teacher!

Corinne's style of teaching resonates with me. I have learned so much from her, as she facilitated my 200RYT training. She is patient, kind and adjusts easily to the needs of her students. I highly recommend her!

Corinne Rosita Aulakn Yoga Retreat 2014

I attended Corinne Rosita Aulakh Yoga Retreat from 28 May to 6 June 2014 with five of my friends and had a great time. We had yoga in the morning and evening which was very relaxing. For the rest of the day there were many interesting activities she arranged for us to choose from and I did them all and thoroughly enjoyed myself. She also kindly arranged for my extended trip for another five days to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica after the retreat. Everything was well organised and catered to each participant's individual interest. Thank you, Corinne.

YTT-200 in Costa Rica

I attended yoga teacher training with Corinne at her home in the mountains surrounding San Jose. She is truly inspirational as a teacher, and she always made me feel confident in what I was bringing to the table as I was learning to teach. Getting to spend time with her horses was amazing, and the accommodations are perfect! On a side note, I thought that the vegetarian menu menu could be problematic for me, but the food was amazing, and I did not miss meat at all during my time here. I strongly encourage anyone to either go on a retreat or do YTT training with Corinne

In the month of May I did the Yoga Teacher Training with Corinne Rosita Aulakh in Cahuita. It was a beautiful and enriching experience in so many ways, learning from Corinne as well as from the other students. Corinne is such a warm and kind teacher, sharing her knowledge in a generous and accesible way. She has a deep knowledge of yoga gained from many years of practice and time spent in India and has a way to share that knowledge with ease.

With equal amounts of seriousness and laughter she was guiding us to the core of yoga in the peacefulness of Cahuita. Some mornings we walked down to the beach for morning practice in the rising sun while the waves were crashing in on the wild and empty playa grande. We meditated with the horses, had dance meditation in the garden of the hotel and many candlelit practices on the platform in the evenings with the jungle with all its soothing sounds surrounding us.
We were a small group of students and given lots of opportunity to practice teaching from early on in the course. Corinne created a safe space for us to share and learn from each other. Encouraging us to go deeper in our practice, living a yogic life style to understand what it means to do yoga by practicing it in every aspect of our lives. Through lectures, asana practice, a lot of practice teaching and discussions about yoga philosophy she made us ready for being teachers of our own.

Great Yoga and Horse Instructor

Corinne is a great yoga and horse instructor. She has a very unique ability of connecting with horses and finding the spirituality in a space shared by both humans and horses. Having almost zero experience with horses, by listening and observing her actions, she made me feel comfortable enough to surrender and feel safe. She is a genuine person and very down to earth which makes practicing yoga with her fun. She offered a good mix of techniques of connecting with what was going on in our bodies and what was going on in our hearts and soul. The true meaning of yoga--Union!

Yoga in the outdoors of Rajastan, India

Corinne organised a five-day horse trek with yoga sessions everyday. After spending the day riding it was wonderful to do the yoga stretches and become centered again with breathing exercises. Best of all it was outdoors on the campsite with beautiful Rajastan country-side all around us.

200 hr YTT Training

May 2015, I completed the 200 hr multi style YTT with Corinne Alkuah in Costa Rica. This course was very well constructed and implemented. Corinne is a wonderful teacher with such a wealth of knowledge, both professionally and personally, which she shares freely. The E-Manual provided was comprehensive and complete, however, be prepared to also take plenty of notes during class while information is presented and she shares her knowledge.

The hands on classes that we were required to write and execute with our fellow students I found to be most helpful in preparing myself for teaching and/or general sharing. Questions and conversations were encouraged with any guidance or correction for her students offered respectfully and lovingly. The limited number of students made for a comfortable environment conducive to learning with great student/teacher ratio. I highly recommend Corinne for anyone looking to teach or just expand one’s self knowledge.

Unique yoga instructor

Corinne takes very special care of her students, from the lodgings were they arrive to the most sophisticated food requirements and health issues any might have. I just found her to be an outstanding instructor and human being.

I met Corinne at the same yoga school in India, where I learnt yoga few months before Corinne came for her training. She already owned her own yoga studio, there was no doubt that Corinne was very experienced. She immediately striked me as a positive, friendly and kind person. Her face was always lit with a beautiful smile. Her level of Yoga knowledge, including asanas was beautiful. And she continued to add new knowledge to her being.

Her background and personal history seem extremely interesting to me. She can only be an amazing yoga teacher all together. Her love for horses and a unique way to connect with them through yoga practice and phylosophy is a rare thing to experience. I hope to do it ones with her, on one of my future god giving travels perhaps. Love to you Corinne in Costa Rica. x Tanya

Corinne Aulakh, Yogini Excellence

Corinne is a generous and gracious host and teacher! LIfe is her passion! Corinne leads by example by practicing yoga daily, preparing and eating healthful foods, spending time in solitude and among family and friends--and this includes her horses. In summer of 2014 I was welcomed to Corinne's home in Costa Rica where I was treated with utmost care.

During my stay at Corinne's home she invited me to her yoga studio where she demonstrated her focus and caring on explaining exactly how yoga applies to my body as she gently guided me--not just anyone's body--she was very tuned in to what was happening with me as I practiced with her. Another day Corinne generously taught me to practice yoga with her horses on her property. She is very down to earth, kind, compassionate, and fun! I can not imagine a more gracious or better mentor, friend, and teacher. Corinne actively engages in yoga practice--not as a periodic exercise--but as a way of life. Thank you, Corinne, for your wonderful spirit and leadership! You truly made an impact on my life for the better. I've made healthful changes in my life because I was inspired by our time together in your special place in our world <3 ~Namaste, Danna~

Danna, you are an inspiring and wonderful role model for your art students and all those who know you. Thank you so much for your review, it brought tears of joy to me as I remembered our wonderful time together here in CR. I am hoping to enrich my own yoga practice this year and expand and share my yoga with more people this year and your review will help me do that.
hope all is well with you and your family,
love, corinne

Corinne's my biggest inspiration!

Call it biased, but I think my mom is the most inspiring yogis I know. In the last decade, I've watched her yoga practice evolve with such beauty and devotion. And now to experience her new yoking of yoga and our other passion, horse riding, is such a zen connection with horses, those gentle souls. My mom's teaching is for every level, and she teaches you the skills you need to have your own safe and balanced practice.
