Cortney started practicing yoga in 2010 when she enrolled in the yoga classes through NCMC. The first time she stepped onto her yoga mat it was like finally finding herself. As she began to explore her body and quiet her mind, she discovered she was really into yoga, and wanted more. She began to deepen her practice; she experienced many positive changes that yoga was making in her life. She felt inspired to share and guide others to experience the positive effects yoga has had upon her life in hopes of cultivating a positive effect among others. Cortney completed Be the Love, 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training with Tiffany Lenau in 2013. She believes that practicing yoga is a time to put everything else on hold and connect to your inner being and to be present. As a teacher, she strives to create an atmosphere of openness and total acceptance- a safe place for students to let go and simply enjoy their practice.
