As of Dec 2015 I am devoting my efforts full time to the study, practice and teaching of yoga. Ashtanga Yoga forms the foundation of my work. I practice Ashtanga Mysore daily as a means of not only supporting my own practice, but also to become better informed, through direct experience, of the asanas and their effect on our physical, energetic, spiritual, emotional and intellectual bodies. My classes are focused on the application of David Garrigues' 5 Allies: foundation, central axis (sushumna nadi), breath, bandhas and gaze (drishti) to facilitate safe, strong, and grounded asana (postures), pranayama (breath control), and dhyana (mind control).

Prior to Dec 2015, I taught part time while maintaining a full time position with the US Food & Drug Administration in a management/international policy for food safety position. My educational background includes BS, MS, and PhD degrees in food science and I intend to continue to use that knowledge to inform and motivate within the yoga community around food issues of importance to animal, human and environmental wellbeing.

Wonderful with assists!

I think Cory is kind of known for assists, and his are right on point. Secure and confident, I always know I'm in good hands. His classes are a great mix of physical asana and spiritual - with chanting and themes to focus on during the class. He makes you feel welcome whether you routinely attend, or are brand new.

Insightful and Inspirational

Cory is an inspiring teacher! I have been attending his classes for over a year now, and he has encouraged me to delve into the more spiritual side of yoga. I especially enjoy Cory’s Jivamukti classes, in which he integrates the philosophy of yoga with an Ashtanga-influenced asana sequence, offering his own powerful insights on the Jivamukti focus of the month. His classes are challenging, but still accessible for everyone, and his hands-on approach truly takes personalization to the individual level. Every time I leave Cory’s class, I feel more uplifted and grateful. Looking forward to join him on his Yoga Nepal retreat this fall!

Great instructor

I write from the perspective of one who has practiced yoga for over 20 years and a mother who has taught yoga even longer. This has steered me towards a very discriminating attitude when it comes to teacher selection. A good teacher is of the utmost importance in a yoga practice. Cory is that teacher, great hands on instruction that's not overbearing and a deep understanding of yoga's spiritual and physical sides. Highly recommended.

Brilliant teacher

I've been taking Cory's class on a regular basis and as often as possible for nearly two years. Cory challenges each of his students to bring her or his best self - physical and spiritual - to the mat in every class. Even when I'm feeling out of sorts and not necessarily in the "mood" for yoga, I always leave Cory's class thankful that I've attended.

And I'm always thankful to have you there with me dearest Jen!

Spiritual Guide

I have been practicing with Cory since 2008. His spiritual presence is a gift and one he shares in abundance. Coming to the mat and being guided by Cory is always a joy, often a surprise and something I never take for granted. Thanks Coryji
