Since my first downward facing dog in a hatha class back in 2011, I've been hooked on yoga, always looking to learn and do more. I reached a point last year in my practice when I realized I wanted to do a teacher training, and had the opportunity in April 2015. I headed off for a month in Rishikesh, India for a 30-day teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa and completed my certification there. In addition to the asanas, we learned extensive techniques for teaching meditation and pranayama as well.
I love the physical benefits of yoga, but more than that, I love the power of yoga to calm the mind, promote peace, calm and rational thinking, and those long, deep breaths that connect you to life itself.
