250 HR CYT, RYT: I’ve been teaching Group Exercise for over 17 years. I taught my first aerobics class in1994 at Ft. Sill. Oklahoma. My family moved to Hawaii via the military in 1995 and that’s where I got my first aerobics certification with AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). While in Hawaii, I taught step aerobics, body sculpting and floor aerobics at the Schofield Barracks Family Fitness Center. When my family moved back to Ft. Sill in 1998, I was hired on at the YMCA.
I have several certifications through the YMCA of the USA, including Group Exercise, Personal Training; I also have my Schwinn Cycling certification and my Level One Raw Food Certification. I am a CYT with my 250 hour Yoga Certification from Yahweh Yoga, Chandler, Arizona (Nov. 2011). I am also a RYT; Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. While at the YMCA, I spent a year as the Fitness Coordinator over the group exercise and water aerobics programs, I’ve done fitness assessments, taught step aerobics, water aerobics, body sculpting, cardio kickboxing, cycling, Pilates and yoga. I’m a certified Personal Trainer and I do personal training with yoga and nutrition. I also spent three years teaching step aerobics at Cameron University
I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications, Radio/TV with a minor in Physical Education. Over the past 9 years, I was the Production Director and On-Air Personality at KCCU-FM, a National Public Radio Station Affiliate with a network of seven stations. I am now the Station Manager/Operations Director for KCCU.
I have four daughter’s in their 20’s and 30's, two son-in-laws, three adorable grandchildren, four grand dogs and two grand cats. I love to read, crochet, travel and I serve on several community boards. I love, love sharing my love for yoga.
