Yoga has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the house of my Guru… Who also happens to be my mum and she has been directing me in the ways of yoga since I was a child. I feel very fortunate to have grown up in accordance with the ancient traditions of the Gurukula system, and even more grateful to share such a special bond with her. I have been greatly influenced by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, Krishnamacharya, Bernie Clark & Paul Grilley and draw inspiration from the practices of Sivananda, Vinyasa, Hot Dynamic Yoga and Yin to create a class that is both challenging and connected.
I believe that yoga is for everyone and that the teachings of this ancient wisdom tradition should be made accessible to everyone, regardless of a person’s size, shape, ability, age or any other perceived obstacle. It’s my wish to deliver these teachings with full respect and honour to the tradition of yoga whilst remaining playful and honest. I hope to encourage my students to trust in their own intuition and become their own best teachers by emphasising the importance of finding freedom in the practice and an ability to explore their own anatomical uniqueness. It is my passion to deliver classes that prompt you to investigate with curiosity and compassion the physical, psychological, emotional & spiritual edges of the self. We need to be brave enough to navigate the unchartered territories of ourselves, whilst knowing it’s worth the journey — because that’s where the real magic lives.
I think the work we do on the mat prepares us for the work we do out in the world… It helps us let go of that which does not serve us in a beneficial way and enables us to move through our lives in a more mindful manner. Together, we will break free from the habits and patterns of behaviour that make us feel unworthy and disconnected and realise the miracle of our own existence.
