A yoga teacher born in Utah, raised in Oakland, CA, and educated at Berkeley, D’ana’s ultimate "message" is to find one's own way in the big "mind- body" world. She has been a part of the fitness/wellness movement for 30 years, and has over 26 years experience in the yoga industry. D’ana graduated from UCB in 1988 with a double in International Relations and French, then promptly moved to Mexico to teach aerobics. She started teaching yoga while working at Rancho La Puerta Spa in Tecate, MX and continued while acting as fitness director for Cunard Cruise Ships. D’ana and Baron Baptiste opened Baptiste Power Yoga Institute in Philadelphia, PA in 1995 and again in Cambridge, MA in 1998. In January 2000, after teaching yoga in the Bay Area, Malibu, Philadelphia, and Boston, Dana moved to Utah, where she has since built a community of dedicated yoga practitioners who love her philosophy of embracing ALL that life has to offer, using ALL the senses to do so. She offers the most cohesive yoga teacher training program in Utah as well as the most scientifically based Professional Yoga Therapist Certification. She's the creator of a non profit organization called InBody Outreach, to bring yoga therapy to over 75 organizations dedicated to underserved populations, to offer yoga therapeutics to people who otherwise couldn't experience it. When she’s not running the studio or the trainings, you can find her swimming in the ocean, reading a good book, or watching football.
