My main work is the study and teaching of Mysore Style Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in New York City. I also teach Vinyasa Flow style influenced by the Krishnamacharya, Vinyasa Krama method. I have been involved in teacher training since 2001 and currently contribute modules to a number of TT programs and direct the TT program at Ananda Ashram in Upstate New York.
All of the work I do is informed by a ongoing study of the Yoga Sutras amongst other texts and a steady, longstanding daily practice. The teaching is often eclectic and spontanious while remaining rooted in the classical system of sequences and vinyasas. Students are offered multiple ways of workshopping poses or variations to prevent injury or ways of using practice therapeutically.
The Mysore style, self practice method allows the space to address each persons needs individually, even in the midst of a very busy, all levels environment.
I give the greatest thanks to all of my teachers and to the students who teach me the greatest lessons everyday.
