Dawn has over 20 years experience in the study, practice and love of yoga and meditation with instruction in Iyengar, Hatha, Sivananda, Vinyasa styles, with great teachers like Philip Urso, Barrie Riseman, Leslie Bishop & Maxine Munro. She began yoga with David Thomas of Vital Health Iyengar Yoga in Halifax and marathon training in 1993, knowing the running would fall away but not the yoga. The genuine pursuit of self realization is a most significant step on one's path. Bringing the mind and body to reveal your true nature. Often yoga is thought to be a practice of postures, yet this is 1 of the 8 limbs of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Yoga is a path for freeing the heart/mind.
Dawn is also a certified Meditation Instructor, currently offering instruction at Shambhala Meditation Centers. Her main teacher is Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, a Tibetian Vajrayana Master. She has also studied with Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Dzongsar Kyyentse Rinpoche and Pema Chodron.
Currently Dawn is continuing study in Shambhala Buddhism, Yoga Teacher Training TAYS, Yoga Sutras, Non Violent Communication & Death Awareness.
