Dawn began studying yoga in 2004 while studying music performance at Boston Conservatory. She used the breathing techniques, asana practice and philosophies she learned in yoga classes within her musical studies to relieve performance anxiety and to overcome the physical wear and tear of the long hours of instrumental performance that the conservatory life called for. As the years went by, a separate love and daily incorporation of yoga practice and lifestyle began. After receiving a BM in Music Performance and a MS in Music Education, Dawn went on to receive her 200hr yoga certification at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She taught in various studios across the island before deciding to open up her own studio. Rocky Point, with it’s physically active community and beautiful surroundings was the perfect fit for her and Peaceful Warrior Yoga Center has become a staple within the community. In 2013 Dawn traveled to India to obtain her 500hr certification in Advanced Vinyasa Yoga. Dawn’s classes are centered around challenging the body and mind. While physically challenging, she emphasizes the importance of finding the balance between honoring the body and finding new limits every practice.
