Currently, due to health challenges I am only teaching private classes, as well as a weekly volunteer class at a local nonprofit.
I am a 40-something, plus sized registered yoga teacher living with the challenges of multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia. Yoga was an important tool in helping me heal the wounds of a growing up in an abusive home environment and it continues to play an important role in helping me live a fulfilling life despite chronic illness.
These health challenges shaped my personal practice, as well as my teaching style and teaching philosophy. I believe anyone can do yoga when matched with the right teacher and the right class. Currently, I teach 2 styles of modified yoga (chair and mat) designed for those with health challenges or injuries that make a traditional class too difficult. But, I have taught Basic and Basic+ style classes in the past.
My classes include humor and mindfulness. My hope is to provide a space where individuals can connect/reconnect body, mind and spirit in a way that sustains them on and off the mat.
