Introduced to asana, pranayam, mantra & meditation by her mother in the 1970s; Debbie has enjoyed a daily practice for over 35 years. After obtaining a BSc in Environmental Science & PGCE in Physics & Chemistry, Debbie had careers as a research scientist & secondary school science teacher. Inspired by Nature & Godfrey Devereux, she began teaching yoga in 1999. In 2007, she left science teaching to explore yoga; delivering Foundation Courses for the BWY; training as a Diploma Course Tutor & spending extended amounts of time in India, much of it in silent meditation.

In 2012 Debbie & her apprentice Ross, developed Feel Now Yoga, promoting a sensitive, sensible & somatic approach to asana based on logical & scientific principles, whilst honouring the Yoga Sutras.

Combining her science training with the art of Feeling Now, Debbie founded Sensible Yoga School in 2014 & is currently facilitating 2 Yoga Teacher Training Courses as an IYN Yoga Elder. Debbie delivers yoga seminars, meditation groups, women’s groups & therapeutic private yoga tuition (at PR6 7LJ) which accesses yoga's healing potential through the practice of noticing homeostasis, she is especially interested in joint rehab, the profoundly disabled & Self Enquiry. Debbie’s private classes at Whittle-le-Woods village hall, near Chorley, PR6 7LN, are mixed ability & suitable for all. Delivering “Sensible Yoga for Sensitive Individuals”, she prefers inclusivity over exclusivity & offers a safe, accessible & supportive framework which each individual can use to facilitate their own exploration of self.

Debbie's next Sensible Yoga Teacher Training Courses will be starting in 2017 in Lancashire & France. Email if you are seriously interested in training as a Sensible Yoga Teacher.

My life is better thank you Devi :)

I started Yoga for the wrong reasons and found a complete mind body and spirit experience, that has helped me so much. I think differently about who I am and how I hold my physical being daily. Oh I have a long way to go to be even good but at least my shoulders sit better , Sorry personal joke as when I started class my shoulders were so stiff, it was painful :(

If your looking for a Yoga class that has a great Guru and friendly people take a look, I will never look back glad I went the first time for whatever reason!
