I started taking Yoga class in the late 80's at the Sivananda Ashram in Manhattan while putting myself through college after graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. In addition to my creative majors, I also minored in partying, addictions, and dysfunctional relationships. Yea! When I discovered Yoga I realized I had only two choices. Stick with a yoga practice or end up in jail, dead or worse, in an unhappy marriage and unsatisfying career. I completed work/study at the Jivamukti center under the guidance of the venerable Sharon Gannon and David Life for almost 4 years then completed my first teacher training at a Sivananda Ashram. In 1996 I moved to the East End of Long Island to do Organic Farming on Laughing Water Farm, started teaching yoga and eventually opened up "The Studio," a center for the Arts and Yoga in Greenport, NY. I also was the first employee for the Association for Resource Conservation where I did manual hard satisfying labor helping local farms and vineyards get interested in going organic by providing them with organic compost that I helped make. Super crunchy I know! I share this with you because Yoga is ultimately about relationships and the more I practiced, the more I wanted to connect with the earth and give back. In 1997 I completed my first 10 day Vipassana Retreat in Shelbrune Falls, Ma and in 1998 while engaged in my Buddhist getting late and I will finish this story another day. Soon to come, my request of Jesus, living in a tree then on a side of a mountain only to end
