Born in London and raised in a small beach town in southern California, Denise began practicing Yoga as a university student in 1980. Yoga was a way to move, ground, release and balance; a way to find harmony and focus in daily life. It helped her grow stronger and more flexible, both on and off the mat . Yoga inspires her to live more mindfully. Denise loves learning and will always be a student of the practice.
Denise is known for her authentic, clear and compassionate teaching style. She is able to precisely instruct the physical asanas while weaving through and introducing thought provoking ideas, philosophies and concepts; applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in an understandable and useful way. Her continued study of various spiritual disciplines influences her teaching. She encourages the cultivation of the physical and spiritual self, citing the interconnectedness to each other, to the world, the universe at large and to all things.
