I've always been an active person. In high school, I was a dancer and cheerleader. As an adult, I choreographed and taught liturgical dance to high school girls at my church. Seven years of Tae Kwon Do with Grand Master Jin Young Kim (Dragon Kim’s, Edmond, OK) earned me a second-degree black belt. An unrelated neck injury ended the fun of jumping, spinning, and kicking and introduced me to the joy of yoga.
I began practicing yoga consistently in 2009, and in 2012, it became clear that yoga would become my way of life. I received my 200-hour Power Yoga certification, studying with Kurt Johnsen and Jayme Bushmiaer of American Power Yoga in Dallas. My prayer is for others to experience the joyful, lasting transformation yoga brings. Come as you are – large, small, happy, not so happy; leave better. It really can be just that simple.
