Born on Long Island, NY and raised in Central Virginia, I grew up with passions for sports, dance, and art. I played premier level soccer throughout my childhood and into my college years, and was also a competitive dancer from childhood through age 20. My dad coached soccer and my mom took me to dance classes. My mom also introduced me to yoga, a practice that allowed me to not only ease my overworked muscles, but helped to calm my mind and center my heart. After a health scare with a brain tumor in 2006, I dedicated myself to my yoga practice and made an internal promise to eventually obtain my yoga teacher certification and share the practice with others. I completed my 200 hour teacher training certification in December of 2014 at Om On Yoga in Richmond, Virginia.
When I’m not practicing or sharing yoga, you can usually find me making some art. I am a freelance artist, specializing in pet portraits. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading a good science fiction book, or spending time outside in nature. I enjoy spending time with my family, and my dog.
