Douchka is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance experienced registered yoga teacher with over 15 years of practice and experience in yoga science. With a vast knowledge on Ayurveda, nutrition, lifestyle counseling and aromatherapy, she considers herself an “eternal” student constantly exploring and researching on alternative therapies and techniques to help relieving aches and pains in our stressful world. She’s committed to her true mission of sharing yoga with others as a powerful Tool of Life.

Even though she's originally known for her original specialty - a unique restorative flow, on the floor, very grounding and nurturing - she also enjoys the challenge of teaching high energy “flow and hold-pose” sequences, paying special attention to proper alignment. Among other influencers, she's studied the Anusara principles of alignment with Kelly Haas, and shares those in her teaching as a foundation and to help students work on past injuries and present physical health conditions.

She's passionate in a diverse spectrum of modalities, and although mostly self-taught, she still holds a special place in her heart, mind and teachings for a few teachers she highly respects and admires, and from whom she draws teaching and practice inspiration: Mark Whitwell, Raul David Raye, Christopher Wallis, Daniel Odier, David Crow, Vasant Lad, , Osho, Margot the list is growing and evolving as she keeps on studying, practicing and experiencing!

Her life and yoga philosophy are inspired in Tantra, at its pure essence, with the body sacredness being at the core of her self-care practice as a tool for healing and self-realization.

In 2011, she co-founded Yana Shala with the mission of developing and presenting workshops, seminars and retreats on the various aspects of the Yoga science, and other healing and self-development disciplines. She's currently co-leading with Barb Totzke 'Manifest Your Inner Teacher', a 9-module program (200-hr Yoga Alliance Certified) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Providing all the tools that are the foundation of her own practice and teachings, this program takes the student on a journey of self-inquiry, self-discovery, practicing and learning from personal experience, to organically give birth to the Inner Teacher.

Best Yoga Teacher

I have know Douchka for almost a year. She impressed me with her depth in the knowledge of Ayurveda and the practice of Yoga. She is very passionate about her work and always works hard to bring best results. I attended her training at the Comerica women's forum where she got us all in the yoga and meditation practice. Her communication is so easy and so hands on. I hope to learn more from her wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend Douchka to anyone looking to learn or further their yoga practice or Ayurveda nutrition.
Thank you

True source of inspiration

After finding yoga, and becoming a consistent practitioner, I found Douchka's class and the whole world of yoga began to open up. I always felt as if she were designing her class specifically for me, and I know all of her students feel that way. Her ability to teach students to move in safe and healthy ways is inspiring! Douchka encouraged me to continue my studies and take my first yoga teacher training. I will always consider her a true teacher of mine!

The Dou Review

I have known Douchka for years and have always enjoyed taking her classes. Her practice is what one would expect from a yoga teacher, peaceful, kind, and motivating.

I appreciate Douchka's efforts to continually educate herself and remain flexible by shedding herself of old ideas, for new ones, a very rare yoga teacher trait. I am thankful that she also understands the importance of honoring the gurus who have taught her- it is this which keeps the teacher humble and grounded.

Take her classes, you will be transformed.

Why Douchka is my favorite teacher

I plan my schedule to be home whenever I can to take her relaxation class on Friday Night at Tsada.
She makes each student seem like part of the community.
She seems to remember who needs adjustments or needs a different size prop (pillows, straps, etc)
