Once you've had the privilege of being in Doug's class, you'll never be able to find another yogi who comes close to how amazing he is. He creates such a unique and wholesome experience. Doug is the only yogi who has continued to challenge me to find my full potential. He is a great teacher- gives everyone his attention, provides many options for different levels and has the talent to guide anyone through an amazing journey of breathing and enlightenment. A 100% genuine and amazing person... simply the best!
Doug introduced me to yoga in 2001 when he was the director of the massage school I was attending. He offered his classes for free to students and the community of Northern Arizona. His style of teaching taught me how to harness a sense of joy, depth, wonder and intensity in my practice. Doug inspired me to explore yoga philosophy and ayurvedic medicine. He is a wealth of knowledge and a true yogi in every way.
Through the teaching of Doug I learned how to breathe, how to be, how to move and how to think. I always left classes inspired to love my kids more and to dream bigger than when I started.
His teaching style meets you right where you are but motivates you to reach for the stars.
If I could still practice with Doug I would but daily I carry with me the knowledge and insight he taught and I share it with those around me.
I strength train and without Doug's teachings on breathing my ability to lift weights safely would have been severely compromised. Breathe is foundational.
I wish the world could experience his teachings!
I have had the pleasure of beginning my yoga journey with Doug. His classes are a beautiful flow of Pranayama mixed with Asana, unique to anything I've experienced before and since. He is warm and caring, a person who truly wants others to shine, and does so through example. Doug is a very balanced teacher, great for those who want to break a sweat, as well as those who need a serious heart opening. Also, not to be neglected is his BEAUTIFUL meditation music, gongs and flutes and other magical things, you will transcend time and space.
For five years now, I've been inspired to practice yoga with Douglas regularly. He is authentic, spiritual, light hearted, down-to-earth, and down-right fun! His ability to break down challenging postures into component parts and teach postures progressively so that everyone can participate according to their level genuinely helped me. Every class is unique and adventurous.
Doug was my yoga teacher for years in Los Angeles. Very spiritual and experienced on variety of levels. Deeply missed after he left LA.
Douglas King is as good as it gets and has been my favorite yoga teacher for many years now.
Doug is by far the most unique and powerful yoga enthusiast I have had the privilege to learn from. His approach will leave you invigorated and with an improved understanding of yoga and the philosophy behind it. You will never find another like him! And just wait until he brings out the gong...that is an experience you don't want to miss <3
I started to go to Gold's Gym in 2007 and tried out a few different Yoga classes. Doug's yoga class attracted me the most. His class was for multiple levels - beginners could follow and advanced could be challenged. He was kind, funny, spiritual. I remember the enlightment listening to his share of everyday life stories and meditations. His music selection was also superb. I enjoyed learning yoga from Doug very much for a few years. I miss him now he is not teaching in the area.
I trained with Doug for 8 years, he is the reason I continued through the years. He works to bring the most out of all, by challenging your mind and body.
If you ever get the chance to take a class with Doug, do so. He is kind and patience and full of so much knowledge to share. His insight has really opened up my eyes about this world.
Douglas King = Yoga
Learned a lot from Doug
Love his cymbal savasana
Creative, thoughtful and fun
Miss him
Very passionate teacher who brings outstanding teaching and grounding energy to class. Doug's practice is exceptionally strong and the Kundalini breath work sets the stage for an energized class. Very body focused class whilst at the same time very spiritual. Most unique is Doug's music, especially when he plays the native american flute during mediation.
Doug is my favorite yoga teacher! I miss his classes so much since I moved away! But I still try to do the things I learned from him, and when I am in the same part of the world he is, I take his class and LOVE it! I wanted to put 5 stars for every quality but I cannot figure out how to do that on my computer. So you please put those 5 stars on each category for me, please! Thank you!
