Elena studied her RYT 200hrs in Traditonal Hatha & Vinyasa with Ashtak in India, under the tutelage of Dr Gaurav Malik & Kate Osman, who she's eternally grateful to. Continuing her studies since in London regularly at workshops, classes and trainings with teachers from a range of yoga and other wellbeing disciplines; curiosity & learning are key in her practice and her work as a teacher.
Elements of yoga featured in Elena's life from a young age, and she also comes from a creative background in visual arts, performance & facilitation. Variously wonderful & challenging years training in these fields led her to discover how transformative embracing falling over can be, on & off the mat. She believes in the principles of ahimsa & growing with her students through yoga.
Elena's Bristol classes are strongly influenced by traditional Hatha yoga. Incorporating deep postures with pranayama breathing exercises to balance energy, and always a juicy Savasana (the sleepy bit) at the end. Yogic philosophy, music & mantras colour her experience and often feature in classes too. Laughter and playfulness are always much encouraged.
As well as public & one to one classes, Elena teaches playful Reggae Yoga at festivals & works with community groups and schools to bring yoga and arts practices to more isolated communities.
