Ellen Saltonstall, E-RYT 500, is a certified yoga instructor based in New York City with extensive training in Iyengar and Anusara Yoga (certified in 2000). Her teaching has been strongly influenced by her background in dance and massage therapy, and her interest in the subtle interplay of body, mind and spirit. She has been a practitioner of meditation and yoga for over 30 years, and currently studies with meditation teacher Paul Muller-Ortega. She teaches nationally and internationally with a specialty in anatomy and therapeutics, of which she is a life-long student. She is known for her clarity and a down-to-earth style, and for helping students to practice authentically and safely. She teaches Kinetic Awareness, a method of bodywork using rubber balls, and she authored the first book on the method: Kinetic Awareness, Discovering Your Bodymind, 1983.
