Emily discovered yoga as therapy for her body after sustaining a serious spinal injury while racing
marathons. It didn’t take long for the internal benefits of yoga to come through and start to change
every aspect of how Emily lived her life.
Emily attained her RYT 200 at Intentional Yoga in Kalamazoo, MI in 2015, where she taught regularly for
a year. She then attained her CPR/First Aid/AED certification through The American Red Cross and
gained her SUP Yoga certification through Yen Yoga and Fitness in beautiful Traverse City, MI. Shortly
afterward, Emily started her own SUP and beach yoga company on the Great Lakes.
For Emily, the calling of more yogic knowledge was so great that she ultimately decided to travel to India
to study under a Guru and Swami. Emily attained her RYT 500 with a specialization in Ayurveda in 2016
at Ayuryoga Eco Ashram in Mysore, India.
Upon returning to the United States, Emily knew her heart was in The Islands. Sharing her passion for
yoga, SUP, the environment, laughter, love and light is her life’s devotion.
Continuing on the path, Emily realized that when 1 teaches, two learn and joined Full Circle Yoga School as a Cofacilitator and quickly moved into the role of Lead Facilitator. Emily is a traditional teacher honoring the styles of teachers she’s studied with while integrating how to apply the philosophy and commitment the yogic texts, old & new, ask of the role of “Yoga Teacher” in the modern world. Having interacted with more than 100 students who are now teachers, Emily has learned what a great responsibility and honor it is to guide others on the path, a role she cherishes.
