Eon Swiegers has been practicing yoga since the start of 2007. He became an experienced, registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) at the end of 2014 which is rated as the highest yoga qualification at the Yoga Alliance. As an individual he has been in the business world from the age of 18. Currently contributing to the world of yoga he is doing his Masters in Business, specialising in customer experience amongst yoga practitioners. His goal is to bring yoga to the modern individual using yoga as a tool to cope with the fast paced environment, gaining awareness and becoming more mindful in every day life.
He teaches a variety of group and private yoga classes on a weekly basis in the Pretoria East and Johannesburg areas of South Africa. This ranges from power yoga to ashtanga yoga to vinyasa flow and even gentle yoga classes. With over 700 hours of teacher training, having attended workshops with Michael Gannon and Ana Forrest among many others, and an additional 2500+ teaching hours behind his name, he has the experience to work with beginners or advanced students. He spends a lot of time presenting workshops with a strong focus on arm balances and inverted poses. He has travelled to many different countries around the world and up to date he has taught and attended yoga classes and workshops in Spain, France, Portugal, The Netherlands, Belgium, England, Canada, America, Argentina, Thailand, South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho and India. Later this year Eon will be running a teachers’ training course in Bali with his teacher where he will qualify yoga students from across the globe as yoga teachers (RYS).
His classes feature a strong focus on alignment and breath. His students can expect a physically demanding class, but taught in a unique, youthful manner. His diverse knowledge of yoga education, philosophy, health, and the spiritual dimensions of yoga, supports his foundation of instilling a balanced lifestyle upon his learners. With weekly classes and workshops there are many opportunities to join in on one of his classes at his studio space in Waterkloof, Pretoria.
