Erin Ehlers has been teaching throughout the Seacoast for 12 years, and opened Yoga on the Hill in March of 2008. She is an E-RYT(500), with hundreds of hours of additional training. Her background in yoga comes from tradition of Iyengar yoga, but she enjoys the richness of knowledge that comes from all lineages. She has lived at the Kripalu Center in seva (selfless service), and has practiced yoga since the age of 19. Erin's classes bring focus to the alignment of the asana (poses), using knowledge of the body to expand her students' abilities to create a healthy, sustainable and graceful yoga practice. She is a founding board member of SATYA, a local non-profit group dedicated to bringing yoga to under-served populations. Erin encourages her students to commit to yoga for the long term, to continuously examine the delights of a practice that illuminates and inspires.

Alongside yoga, Erin explored her love of food and cooking while working as an artisan cheesemaker, as a pastry chef, and for the non-profit, Seacoast Eat Local. She lives with her husband, the farmer at Orange Circle Farm, in Kittery.

Her professional accreditation is:
E-RYT 500, the highest designation as accredited by the Yoga Alliance

Additional professional training includes:
110 hour teacher training with Kofi Busia
Relax and Renew® Trainer with Judith Hanson Lasater (restorative yoga training)
500 hour Art of Teaching training with Barbara Benagh

Erin is a passionate student of yoga, who takes her profession seriously. With well over 1500 hours of professional training, she humbly attempts to take part in of the uplifting of the pedagogy of yoga.
