We run small eco friendly yoga retreats and holidays in Central Portugal. As well as teaching classes locally, and leading some of our retreats, I help facilitate retreats with other wonderful teachers.
I teach a slow, breath led, vinyasa class, with a focus on alignment and deep release and relaxation. I am also very influenced i my teaching by the therapeutic aspects of yoga. I did my initial training to teach in Byron Bay, Australia, (RYT 500) very close to where I grew up. I was lucky to be introduced to yoga as a teenager in secondary school, and it has remained a part of my life since then. I am a mother of three lovely daughters, and have also trained to teach both pregnancy and post-natal yoga.
Our little retreat centre is located in a magical valley in the middle of Portugal, just on the edge of a small, traditional village and surrounded by forest. We are approximately 1 kilometer from a huge reservoir, which provides a beautiful swimming option for retreat guests. Our property if off- grid and entirely sustainable. We generate power using both solar and hydro electric systems, we heat water using the sun or wood and we have a large organic vegetable garden. Our own bathrooms and guest bathrooms are all built from wood in a clean modern style, and have eco-composting toilets.
Our guest accomodation is yurts. All of which have been made by us, here on site, using wood from our own land. Our yurts are charming, romantic places to stay, and sleep either three or two, depending on the size.
We are a small centre, and always will be. Our maximum capacity is 10 guests. Our retreats are personal and intimate, allowing for a true break away from the stresses and demands of daily life.
