My Yoga journey started in January 2012 with a Mysore style practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Similar to many others, I came to Yoga looking for an alternative to deal with the consequences of modern living. Quickly realizing the importance that breath had on my progress, my curiosity awoke to learn more about Pranayama. My practice changed significantly since I chose to give breath work equal standing to asana.
After injuring myself overworking a pose, I found a welcoming hOMe in the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts and in December 2013, I earned my 200HR Yoga Teacher certification. Since then, I have completed two thirds of my 500 HR professional teaching certification. My additional teacher trainings are in Pranayama, Restorative Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and Yoga philosophy.
I enjoy a practice where I work to breathe freely, allowing my body to move in concert with my breath, looking for the elusive moment of stillness. My teaching goal is to learn how to meet students where they are, to help them reach their own goals. I incorporate Pranayama, Asana and Meditation into my classes. For both gentle, restorative classes and more intense and invigorating meditative flow class, I invite students to move slowly, savoring all the sensations available between A & B instead of experiencing only the end points.
En adición a lo anterior, yo hablo Español y me encantaría tener la oportunidad de compartir mi práctica de yoga en mi lengua natal.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing practice with you.
