Early childhood exposure to the disciplined moving arts of Theatre & Dance, stimulated Gabrielle’s inspiration as a young adult in collage to study Yogic, Martial & Internal Arts. She resonated with these practices, finding that they helped promote mental clarity, maintain focus, healed injuries, as well as offering an integrated fitness regimen, bringing balance to the demanding lifestyle of a full-time undergraduate student & self employed artist!
During this period, Gabrielle immersed herself in the Taoist Internal/Martial Arts by training with Master Chik Quadir Mason, founder of the Spirit Wind Internal Arts Society. She received many certifications of study in forms ranging from Pa-Kua Chang, Tao Yin Yoga, Chi Kung, Tai Chi Chuan, plus earning her “Warrior Sash” for Kung Fu. She also actively participated in group instruction, demonstrations and collaborative performances. In 2000, she earned her from Temple University’s Department of Theater (with an exploratory concentration in dance, music and voice), simultaneously beginning her teaching career in the Healing Arts under the apprenticeship of Sifu Mason until 2011.
Gabrielle’s work as a healing arts practitioner and instructor continues to intersect with her work as an inter-disciplinary performance artist through the incorporation of Internal and Martial Arts forms in combination with Dance, Poetry and Theater presentation (see ).
Gabrielle has been teaching Healing Arts since 2000. She is Registered & Insured through the Yoga Alliance. She holds Teacher Training Certifications in Level I Radiant Lotus Women’s Qi Gong from Daisy Lee, a 200 hour ERYT in Vinyasa Power Yoga from the Rasa School, plus Level II Tao Yin Yoga from the Spirit Wind Internal Arts Society.
