I am a retired Professor of Dance and Movement Studies, and taught college dance for 43 years. I developed the Movement Studies Track within the Dance major at Scripps College in Claremont, CA, where I taught for 29 years until retiring in May 2015. My yoga practice and teachings integrate somatic modalities (focusing on bodymind connection and awareness) to enhance both physical and spiritual benefits of yoga. These somatic modalities, upon which I designed a college course called "Somatics of Yoga: An Integrated Approach," include Laban/Bartenieff Movment Analysis, Ideokinesis, Hanna Somatics, Reciprocal Innervation, and other bodymind techniques. I am available for group classes, private tutorials, and specialized workshops.
