I started my yoga practice in the year 1999 after 4 decades of abusing my body with weight lifting, running and a variety of team sports.
I practiced Bikram yoga 4 or 5 times a week for over 8 years before deciding to become a teacher. In the spring of 2009 I attended the Bikram teacher training in Palm Desert California and obtained my 500 hour certificate.
I love teaching yoga. It's what I have decided to do for the rest of my have taught in Bikram studios in Northampton MA and Sarasota Florida. After 2 years in Sarasota I moved to Tampa FL to teach at Evolation yoga. After years teaching in Tampa I moved back to Massachusetts.
I teach three classes, the traditional 90 minute Bikram 105 degree class (known as the 26 and 2), a warm 60 minute class which is similar, being a little shorter and not as hot ( room heated to 90 degrees or less). I've taught full time the last few years at Evolation studio(s) in the Tampa area.
I am also on the faculty at Evolation and have taken part in over 20 teacher trainings world wide. I was Director of Teaching at Evolation Tampa where we had a strong feedback culture further training and mentoring our teachers.
In addition I taught occasionally for some of our teachers who have opened up their own studios in the Tampa Bay area.
My personal practice has blossomed in the last few years. I enjoy vinyasa, restorative and yin classes and am always working on my private practice. I believe in the Bikram series but by all means welcome all other methods. I can teach a strict Bikram class if needed but my teaching methods are a little more compassionate.
I have developed a gentle beginner's class, good for people of all ages, especially for older folks, a class of simple yoga poses and stretching exercises. One of my main goals is to bring yoga to more people my age in my community.
I haven’t been teaching much since moving to Dalton, but I am teaching that beginner’s class at the local CRA Wednesday mornings. I also still work at Evolation teacher trainings.
