After doing ballet for 12 years and then martial arts for a few, I fell in love with Ashtanga yoga from my first yoga class taught by Granville Cousins in Manchester in 2002. I practiced with him for the following two years and found his teaching inspirational.
After leaving the UK for a few years, and practicing many different styles of yoga, as well as Pilates and contemporary dance, I always went back to my favourite style of Ashtanga. When I moved to East Grinstead in 2010, where I live now, I was inspired by the wonderful Kirsten Germann and Scott Johnson to complete a 200-hour Teacher Training course with world renowned Ashtanga yoga teachers, Lucy Crawford and John Scott.
I continued my Ashtanga Yoga studies by attending a John Scott Yoga TT CPD week training. I have also trained alongside Greg Nardi, Kia Naddermier, David Keil and many other great and inspiring teachers.
Over the past couple of years, I have continued progressing my yoga journey and knowledge, by attending a couple of Anatomy courses with Doctor Yogi, a 5-day Intensive training in Yoga for Sports with Jim Harrington, 7-day silent meditation retreat with Burgs (The Art of meditation) and more recently a 50 hour TT in Budokon Yoga in Miami with Cameron and Melayne Shayne. I have also started revisiting and exploring my dance background and working on bringing these elements into my own practice and soon into my teaching.
