Hala Khouri, , E-RYT, has been teaching yoga and the movement arts for over 25 years. She earned her in Psychology from Columbia University and her in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she is also currently pursuing her in Depth Psychology with a specialization in Community, Liberation, and Ecopsychology. She is also trained in Somatic Experiencing, a technique which focuses on trauma’s impact on the body-mind and ways to resolve it.
Hala is one of the creators of 'Off the Mat, Into the World', along with Seane Corn and Suzanne Sterling. This non-profit organization bridges yoga and activism within a social justice framework and aims to inspire yogis to take their practice outside of the yoga studio to touch the lives of others.
She leads trauma-informed yoga trainings nationally and her own 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Los Angeles. She has been in private practice for 10 years working with individuals and couples. Hala lives in Venice, CA with her husband and two sons, where she also teaches public yoga classes weekly.
