I am an avid runner who discovered the many benefits of a yoga asana practice in 1999 while living in Belgium. I first learned Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in 1996 as a graduate student in counseling psychology. I lived in Hong Kong for four and a half years where I deepened my yoga and meditation practice and became a certified Integral Hatha Yoga teacher. As a 500-RYT, I am also trained in teen yoga, raja yoga, yin yoga, yoga for stress management and therapeutic gentle yoga for special populations. Much of my teaching focus is on relaxation techniques, stress management and emotional well-being.

I've taught teens and adults privately, at studios and schools in Belgium, Hong Kong and the United States and at the Consulate in Hong Kong. I've led mindfulness courses with educators and parents and presented workshops in schools and international education conferences on the benefits of mindful education and stress management. Currently, I am a school counselor and teach yoga and mindfulness at The International School of Brussels.

Very good for runners

I have practiced Yin Yoga with Heather while I was preparing for the Oxfam Trailwalker in HK: 100km in a bit more than 22 hours.
While previous shorter races had left me hardly able to walk for a few days, i went through these 100k without any pain during or after. I am a very unflexible person and I hate stretching, but lived Heather's yoga lessons and it made a REAL difference on my physical and mental performsnce. Thank you Heather for teachnig me the positions that really help me,

Terrific Teacher

Heather is a terrific teacher! She demonstrates, explains, is hands on, if needed, and is concerned about a person's overall well-being. Heather has a wonderful, soft-spoken manner that, in itself, is extremely relaxing. She has personally introduced me to the many facets of mindfulness and relaxation techniques. Heather is passionate about what she does and that only enhances the experience of taking one of her classes. I strongly recommend taking one of her classes if you have the opportunity!

Born to be a Yoga Instructor

My kids (10 and 13) and I both had Heather as a yoga instructor and we both loved her!! She has a very calming voice which puts you in the right mood. She motivates you to try new poses so you feel like you are learning and testing your limits! It is definitely a worthwhile experience which will make you come back for more!!

A wonderful, knowledgeable teacher

I have had Heather as a yoga instructor in both a class and private setting. She is articulate and informed. She offers adaptations to those who might need them because of injury or sensitivity. I find her classes extremely calming and peaceful without being too "New-Agey" - she's a great instructor!

Wonderful, kind and knowledgable teacher

Heather is a wonderful teacher that is able to work with students at all levels. She has an ability to quickly identify and adapt to the student's needs. Not only is she a yoga practitioner, she is a gifted teacher and communicator, thus making her classes enjoyable from all different levels.
