The challenge and excitement of personal exploration is woven into every one of Heidi Minga’s yoga classes. A Los Angeles native with North Dakota roots, Heidi’s enthusiasm for yoga began in 1991. With 22 years of on-again off-again personal practice at local gyms, she took the layoff from her sales job in 2011 as a sign – it was time to do something she loved.
In 2012, Heidi became a RYT 200, graduating from the yoga teacher-training program at True Nature School of Yoga and is completed her 500 YTT through Soul of Yoga in Decmber of 2015. She has also completed a specialized 100-hour “Yoga of the Heart” cardiac and cancer certification. This was to fulfill a calling she had to help those living with cancer and their caregivers. Heidi lost her mother at the young age of 56 to cancer followed by both of her grandmothers to the same disease. Heidi knows first hand the ups and downs of living with the disease and the toll it can take on patients and their caregivers
Heidi is also a certified MELT instructor, a self-treatment for the connective tissue and neurocore. Along with Hand, Foot, and Roller Treatment Training, Heidi is also one of only a handful of instructors nationwide to be certified in MELT Strength: a combination of neuromuscular repatterning and strengthening techniques to repair the weak links that damage joints and prevent the body’s ability to function pain-free.
In addition to being one of the owners of the 501©3 non-profit Be Well, through which she teaches yoga classes for those recovering from cancer and their caregivers, Heidi also loves to hike, stand up paddleboard, and cultivate in her garden.
