Heidi Sherwin is a caring and highly skilled yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance at the ERYT-200 and R-PYT levels. Heidi’s classes and personalized sessions provide a positive space where everyone can feel safe and empowered to breathe, move, explore, transform and grow. Her teaching style is sincere, cheerful and eclectic, blending the traditional alignment principles of Hatha Yoga with her love of creative movement, playful expression, and awakened breathing. Her interests in the therapeutic and spiritual aspects of yoga are also at the heart of her classes to kindle the union of postures, breathing, and mindfulness.
Personalized yoga sessions with Heidi Sherwin honor the unique and authentic individual, along with his or her personal goals and needs. Prior to each appointment, Heidi will consult with you to assess your particular needs and goals at that time. Then she will use that knowledge to develop an individualized, well-rounded yoga practice that includes asana (postures), breath work, and meditation. Each session will include a reference handout so the personalized practice can be continued at home. Personalized sessions can also include one additional person at no additional cost.
Since 1994, her yoga journey has yielded the most amazing experiences through an eclectic personal practice, self-discovery, studying with master teachers and mostly by celebrating in her students’ achievements. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2009 and Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Certification in 2011, both recognized by the Yoga Alliance. Heidi’s passion and interest in women-centered wellness inspired her to start the BlissMama Yoga Program in 2011, which includes classes focusing on fertility, prenatal, postnatal and mama/baby yoga. She also serves as an Assistant Instructor for the 200-hour Teacher Training program at BlissBlissBliss in Morgantown, WV.
Heidi likes to take her yoga off the mat and into her world as a mother to three wonderful daughters, whom remind her daily that a joyful life exists in the NOW. Together with her husband, they seek and enjoy the simple pleasures of family-time, the great outdoors, and taking time to breathe.
