From an early age I have been interested in health and well-being, working and teaching for several years in women’s health and preventive health care. Teaching, travel and study have broadened my views of different cultures, philosophies and traditions. The manifest and subtle healing, energy and joy found in Hatha yoga and meditation practices have brought me to this time and place, finding rich experience in sharing the benefits of these practices with others through teaching yoga.
My goals in teaching yoga are focused in creating a safe and comfortable environment for students to experience the effects of a balanced yoga practice, placing emphasis on healthy alignment and attuning to body wisdom, thereby facilitating access to physical, mental and emotional benefits for each student. My classes include breath work, asana practice and deep relaxation.
My teaching is inspired by the Living Yoga Program Teacher Training completed in 2011, ongoing study of the Yoga Sutras, and all the teachers, past and present, in my life. I also enjoy playing in the local mandolin orchestra, keeping up with two fabulous daughters and a host of family and friends.
