My journey to yoga:::

I started practicing yoga in January 2013 while living at The Healing House in Cusco, Peru. Living in a communal home as an art therapist, I was working with nutritionists, reflexologists, reiki masters, musicians and yoga teachers, I was exposed to an entirely new world and way of being and I felt very connected. This connectedness was something I had been missing in my life, and that connection is what brings me to my mat everyday. Practicing and teaching yoga has helped me connect to my body and mind as well as to the people and world around me.
In March 2014 I traveled to Rishikesh, India to complete my 200 hour teaching training under the guidance of Ravi Bisht (Classical Hatha) and Davin Jones (Ashtanga Primary Series). In love, I returned to Vancouver to begin teaching and mentoring under Shannon Cluff.
My classes are Hatha based maintaining a gentle flow with long holds in postures. I encourage my students to focus on their breath through the practice using their grounding techniques to energize them up and build strength in that space. I also stress authenticity and trying to do less to really come into the posture slowly articulating every motion.
Through my teaching I want to offer connection and acknowledgment and build relationships with my students. I want to inspire students to come to their mat more often. I am so grateful to my practice of yoga and the connectedness it has brought me and I want to share that with others. My curiousity and knowledge of the practice will continue to grow with the help of my students teaching me every time I come to the mat. I am a life long learner.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page and I look forward to connecting with you on the mat soon! xx
