Jade Lau is now working as Myo-fascial Therapist in a new health concept clinic in Hong Kong. Myo-Fascial Release Therapy is a type of bodywork that focuses on hands-on healing that is appropriate for many different people and conditions.
“Myo” meaning muscle and “Fascial” refers to the fascia system which is a sheath-like structure that surrounds all muscles and their attachments (tendon and ligament). When we have injuries, long-term posture issues, chronic pain, even emotional disturbance, etc, it puts pressure on the fascia system and causes adhesions or scar tissues prevent the full functioning of the muscle causing spasm, tightness, restriction and pain.
Myo-Fascial Release Therapy focus on deep-tissue massage to open up these layers of fascia to improve your range of motion, flexibility and overall balance and posture.
"I originally worked as a merchandiser before realising that my true passion lies in helping people to seek balance. I decided in 2012 that it was time to take a different direction in my career. I became a qualified Yoga teacher completing Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher Training Certification (by Barefoot Yoga Studio, Davis CA) in 2013. I then furthered my studies in Yoga Therapist Training held by Living Yoga Therapy (AU) in 2014 and the Forrest Yoga Advanced Teacher Training held by Ana Forrest (US) in 2015.
Through my learning and development of being a Yoga teacher, I became more fascinated in the human body and what it means to seek balance, both physically and mentally. I then followed Brian Campbell(LA) for Bodywork Training since 2014 and completed the Myo-Fascial Release Bodywork training course in Singapore in 2015.
I am looking forward to share my passion with you and help you on your path to find balance."
