Jim is a 500RYT/200E-RYT Baptiste Yoga teacher. He is the Director of Teacher Development and the Empowerment Coach for the Mystic Yoga Shala Staff and Community. His devotion to the practice continuously inspires him and the Shala community to grow on both a personal and professional level. After decades of living with alcohol and substance abuse, family struggles, and unhealthy relationships,
Jim discovered yoga as a healing vehicle for him to practice removing old choices and patterns that no longer serve him. His inspiration and dedication to his own process is easily felt when he shares his passion and experience in the classroom. He brings a powerful combination of light-warmheartedness and discipline into his teachings. "For me, the practice of yoga isn't about being 'happy' all the time, it's about connecting to the source or our fear, our darkness, our judgements, and our disconnections so we can shed some light on them and recognize that all of these things are a creation of our own conditioning and belief system, and that the true source of our existence is a balance of universal love and devotion. With a dedicated yoga practice, there is nowhere to hide from your authentic self, and this allows you see that self in others with compassion and forgiveness."
Beyond his meditation, asana practice, and teaching both public classes and private lessons at the Shala,
Jim is the leader and co-creator of the MYS 3 Tiered 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program , he also hosts Yoga retreats, workshops, and training programs around the world.
