Many of my core values for Physical Element come from my personal journey in fitness and a love of movement; from surfing & snowboarding to yoga & adult gymnastic strength training with some free diving, slack lining and wake boarding in between.
At the age of 30 I made the transition from running my own electrical business to building my personal training career. My hobby of wake boarding started in my twenties alongside traditional weight training which I had done since I was 17 years old. However, shoulder impingements and imbalances from traditional labour intensive work made me rethink my own training programme.
The importance of breath work was developed while studying free diving in Thailand, and where my where my passion for yoga was born.
My love of snowboarding led me to the Portes du Soleil in the French Alps, where I worked as a ski guide for a season leading parties of tourists between the French and Swiss Alps.
In 2013 I started training regularly in gymnastic strength training and in 2016 I qualified as GST coach, having assisted in the European GymnasticBodies Seminar in the summer 0f 2016.
Seeking greater depth in movement, in the winter of 2016 I studied the fundamentals of Vinyasa and Yin Yoga during a trip to Bali and Australia.
To further deepen my understanding of the body I gained qualifications in both Thai and Sports Massage whilst in Bali and on my return to the United Kingdom I acquired my Levels 3 and 4 Sport Massage Therapy from the Cotswold Academy, Cirencester.
My work centres around the fundamental connections between mind and body, helping my clients address and understand the root of pain and tension and correcting any dysfunctional movement patterns, as well as addressing any anxieties that individuals might have about exercise.
