Jamie was first exposed to yoga in high school. It was offered as an alternative to volleyball and basketball. Later on she practiced yoga in college as a compliment to her dance training and was interested in classes like Svaroopa and Restorative because they offered a beautiful form of nurturing.
Jamie studied with Devarshi Steven Hartman and Priti Robyn Ross from the Kripalu School of Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA. It was during this training where Jamie discovered the power of the yoga community at large. Through all of the laughter, love and tears in the training, yoga taught her the profound affect that it has on so many people for all kinds of reasons. Again, she appreciated the gentler classes offered since there were multiple daily classes required. Jamie leads classes at the East Side YMCA, The Lincoln School and AS220 all in Providence, RI.
She leads a yummy gentle flow class that combines her deep love of movement with the practice of yoga. In her classes, students learn to surrender to their divine essence within. Jamie believes that yoga should be like a full body massage where you sink into the depths of your layers and feel truly nourished.
