I practiced Hatha yoga intermittently from the age of 18. I began to practice mindfulness meditation in 2005. Over the past six years I have been bringing a mindfulness approach to the physical practice of Hatha Yoga.
I work part time as a mental health nurse in a substance misuse treatment centre and have 20 years experience of working in this field. I began training as a mindfulness teacher in 2006 at Bangor University and qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching Mindfulness Based Courses in 2012. I was awarded a certificate of competency to teach mindfulness and adhere to the good practice guidelines.
In October 2014 I began a 12 Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga Teaching training programme at Spirit Rock Retreat centre near San Francisco. This involves three 10 day intensive training retreats which investigate these two traditions and a programme of in between study and practice.
