I started doing a daily yoga practice about 4 years ago after taking care of my Mother for 4 years before her death and building (physically building) a spec house. At that time I was depressed and was also experiencing a great deal of pain in my body My daughter suggested I try Yoga, which I did, and it totally changed my life. When I say that Yoga saved my life, it is not a flippant comment. I came into contact with Monique Parker, who co-founded the teacher training program through UNM (University of New Mexico) and finished my 200 hr RYT with her in 2013. She is still my teacher and inspiration. I completed 3 modules of Yoga Therapy with Ganesh Mohan through the Svastha Yoga Institute and continue my affiliation with SYI. I am currently teaching two classes a week at the Taos Retirement Village that is a chair Yoga practice and one class for older adults at Monique's studio in Taos. I am planning to begin a class for people who have cancer in January of 2016. I am a Registered Nurse, retired, but still currently licensed in NM and affiliated states.
