The art of yoga is so much more than just "fitness". It goes beyond the physical giving us tools that we can use in everyday life. Yoga and all its features of asana (physical poses), pranayama (breathwork) and mindfulness (dharana and dhyana) allows us to become inward, focused with not only power and vitality, but with a type of awareness that deepens our appreciation for our sacred nature and the world around us.
This is the art of yoga; it is a practice. In my case it is a life-style. Yoga has been a part of my life, either studying or teaching for over 25 years. I've integrated yoga through my college career, as a Foreign Service Officer, and professional Belly Dance Instructor and Performer.
I am a Certified Intermediate Yoga Teacher through the Shambhava School of Yoga in Colorado, Certified Level 1 Meditation Teacher, Member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and was initiated by the Himalayan Institute while in India at the Kumbha Mela 2013.
So, join me to learn your body, your mind, the relationship between them through the breath and use the power of the breath to weave the connections together to be healthier and happier.
