I teach fluid, soulful yoga with a strong focus on healthy individual alignment, somatic awareness and playful exploration.
My own practice of more than 20 years has explored many traditions from the dynamics of Ashtanga, Shadow, Acro and flow, to the precision of Iyengar, and the experimental fascia-plumping somatic movement of Tias Little, Bo Forbes and Donna Farhi. Each one informs my teaching and I weave in elements of them all to create energising, joyful, yet thoughtful classes, encouraging individuals no matter what their level, age, body shape, or state of mind. Meditation is an important part of my sadhana and one I love to share with students.
I am continually evolving my practice and experiences, bringing my students along for the ride. I am a BWY and Yoga Alliance (500 hr) accredited teacher and completed an advanced Rasa teacher training with the magical Sianna Sherman, which I feel has added another layer of richness and flavour to my practice and teaching. I hope to pass on that inspiration and enthusiasm to my own students, encouraging them to develop confidence and joy in their yoga and inviting everyone to keep the spirit of curiosity and playfulness in their practice, whether on a yoga mat, a SUP (paddleboard), or life.
I teach all sectors of the population and different styles of yoga from the dynamics of Ashtanga, Vinyasa and slow flow, to Yoga and meditation, Restorative yoga and Pranayama, SUP Yoga, Yoga for Pregnancy, Mum & Babies, Mums and Toddlers, Teens, Children and Family yoga. My classes are infused with the juicy flavours of Rasa yoga, weaving in mudra, mantra, tantric philosophy through the asana and functional anatomy. I also teach CPD (accredited) workshops to teachers and trainee teachers.
It was during pregnancy that my personal yoga practice truly developed. Yoga helped me to cope with the emotional and physical changes and stay grounded, and as my sons have got older (bringing different challenges!) my yoga and meditation has always been there for support. I trained with the wonderful Uma Dinsmore-Tuli (and Birthlight for post natal) and find that pregnant women have a special level of body awareness and receptiveness rarely seen collectively in other yoga classes.
